good ol'days,mujhe yaad he us waqt amir aur salman ki movies aur un k cheap romantic songs kya haal kerte thay hamara
and this is the only bad thing about growing up,we become more critical about everything.
i still remember how much i loved knight rider in those days but when i watched it again

its hard to please you sharmili
i used to be and still to some extent am a supporter of taliban but i have always had reservations about their views and interpretations about islam and its practical imposition in the modern era.any act of killiling an innocent can not be justified on any ground and those who are saying that they are not getting the other side of the picture have probably closed their eyes to reality.
taliban are nothing but a bunch of desperate mullas, funded by the obl and drug and arms dealers,they are hell bent upon killing anyone and everyone who slightly disagrees with their own ideas and view points.
but having said that if i have to choose between u.s.led forces plus hamid karzai and taliban,i will go for taliban.

yup,to err is human and to face the music is also human and this is what is happening now.
but personaly,i think the c.j.does not deserve the kind of glory he has met with,he is the person who took suo-moto action of over flowing drains but did not budge when ppl were being killed by the most powerfull institution of the state in balochistan.no wonder musharaf says he personaly has good terms with the c.j.
jo ho raha he theek is tarah he k atlast ppl seem to have come out of slumber and the inteligenstia is also playing its role in a more positive way.

suicide bombing is an act of desperation not an act of inspiration,remember fatima the 72 years old palestinian who blew herself a couple of years ago?someone who spent her entire life struggling peacefully and watching the death of her beloved ones helplessly,atlast lost her faith in peace in humanity and justice and joined the bombers.i cried when i frst read her story.i dont support their point of view,but when i ask myself what i would have done had i been in fatima's place,the answer scares me.

but even if we stop buying these products,the problem will not be solved.its poverty that is the root cause of all forms of exploitations including child labour.child labour is not an issue in itself.hundreds of thousands of women and even men are also being brutally exploited by the shrewd industrialists and land owners across the thirld world.
hum kis kis cheez ka boycott karain gay.
i really feel ashamed at myself when i say things like this but what else can we do?

xtreme gave some extremely useful info
madrissas are established and run on sectarian lines,wifaq-ul-madaris manages the affairs of deo-bundi madrissas,while burelvi sunnis have their own governing body,similarly shia madrissas have their own system and their curriculum comes directly from iran.and that explains why we love so much to blast each other's mosques.
as for degree,yes there are not one but many degrees at different levels munshi fazil being the most common like our o-level.and these degrees are to some extent officialy recognised also,thanks to late gen.zia,but value of these degrees in practical life is zero almost,as xtreme said at most you can become an imaam-masjid and thats all.
and i dont know the number of graduates that these madrissas churn out every year,but there are roughly one million childern reading in madrissas and its 10 percent comes to one hundred thousand.many of them join mosques or start up their own madrissa.

if present crisis continues,i dont think elections will be held as scheduled.many think we are heading towards martial-law.
1-and yes we have national as well as provincial election system.
2-i think there are 3 major political parties/alliances...A.R.D,M.M.A and P.M.L-Q plus M.Q.M,besides there are nationalist parties and ofcourse tehrik-e-insaaf.
3-most likely if elections are held at all,there is going to be a split mandate,coz that suits the establishment most.
4-MMA+PML-N+TEHRIK-E-INSAAF
5-ruling party is a cocktail of power hungry politicians,some of them were forced to change their loyalities after the previous elections but a majority willingly joined the band wagon of the dictator.i hate them all

now thats rational thinking really
according to report there are yes,over 5000 cops in karachi out of which some2900 are actively engaged in crime control,rest of the force is either on special duties or on long leave i think.
so your conclusion is quite logical,at most 2% of the total force is corrupt,but we tend to believe that two percent are perhaps not corrupt
